In past semesters, I would send out my individualized introduction emails with the Syllabus and Bonus Quiz 1 attached on the first day of the semester. To help students prepare for the live-remote modality, I began this effort the weekend before the start of Fall 2020. So far, I have met virtually with Adrian, Anthony, and Matthew. Kudos to Adrian and Anthony for reaching out to me first :-) I will meet with Bridget and John tomorrow evening. I look forward to replies from the other students on the IS101-3022 roster ^_^

It was so nice meeting with you virtually, even with a plastic bag on my head.
ReplyDeleteIt is late at night, and I'm trying to check off my tasks before our first official live-remote class tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing how this weekend class will work out. First time ever taking a class on a weekend at a College or University. It's nice to have a Professor who is on top of his game and ahead of the curve.
ReplyDeleteIt has been a pleasure getting to meet with you virtually. I look forward to learning from you and building a professional connection. I am already excited for our next class meeting is 6 days!
ReplyDeleteAppreciate you taking out the time to structure this live-remote class. The thought and time you dedicated to making changes in the course, and the virtual meeting prior to the first day of the semester, helped shake away the nerves. IS101 has been and is a pleasant experience.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying this class so far. I also appreciate the effort you're putting in for your students.
ReplyDeleteI also really appreciate the time and effort you have been dedicating to your students! Our conversation helped a lot too, even though I didn't have any sound on my end.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice meeting with you virtually. I love the class.
ReplyDeleteI missed our first day of class, but thank you professor for calling me and explaining the procedures for logging into class.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing everyone in class tomorrow! Hopefully I wont run into any issues again regarding my camera and microphone settings.
ReplyDeleteHello Professor! This is the first time I have ever used a Blog post before. I really like it! This is a great way to get to know everyone since we can't meet in person. This makes the class feel more real. I am a shy person and never like to talk to people, but maybe I should be more like you and start getting to know them as soon as possible. Feeling like I know the people I surround myself by eases my anxiety, even if we are all online.
ReplyDeleteGlad you really like your blogging experience so far and it makes the class feel more real for you despite we are doing this all online :-) You may have had a very late start but you are catching up and I am here to help ^_^
